Last year we went on October 30th
In 2008 we went October 18th
So this is the earliest we've ever been. In fact, we were the FIRST customers through the MAiZE this year! Tickets 1 & 2
This was their 18th year for the pumpkin patch and 10th year for the MAiZE.

Some of the corn was still very short but on the outside edges it was tall and starting to tassel. We passed the crew that was putting up the webbing that marks the pathways, so we were out in bare corn. It made it very tough to spot the dead ends. They also had not put up the numbered posts with the 'directional help' trivia yet so they gave us a printout of the maze design. Having an actual map made it easier until we we came across some mistakes in their pathways - dead ends where paths should have been and the reverse too! They told us that even the fella mowing the paths had gotten lost this year.
They seemed very excited to have us there, even telling other customers that we were the first ones through it. They even waived our ticket price, which we were not expecting. I felt like a celebrity! It took us two hours to do both sides of the MAiZE, see their new beehives, view the petting zoo and chat up the owners. It was very, very sunny - I am so glad I wore the 100SPF sunblock!
