I had this nagging feeling all day yesterday about bible study. I didn't want to go. I mean, I really, really didn't want to go. I had all the answers finished in my study guide, so I was prepared, but this little voice in my head kept telling me that I should stay at home. Of course, I thought that the voice might have been Satan, trying to keep me from an encouraging and uplifting experience. I can't always determine whether 'instinct' or 'gut feeling' or 'prompting' is something else or just me. But I gave in to it and later, as I was walking on the treadmill, I heard the most disconcerting noise. At first I thought something was wrong with the machinery so I turned it off.... and the noise continued. It sounded like a herd of squirrels was loose in the attic. I stepped outside to see this:


Hailstones! It was completely surreal. The rain was gentle, the sun was shining, there was no wind - but it was hailing like crazy! I had never been in a storm where the hail was bigger than a snowflake and D said he hadn't ever seen them this big either.

I have never been so glad to have a carport! We stood underneath it and watched the hail hit the ground and bounce. D shot a video of them coming off the roof - just in case we need to file an insurance claim.

The layers are really interesting.

Some were smooth and round, others... weren't.

So, whether the "feeling" was an angel wing of protection or something else, all I know is that had I gone out, I most likely would have been driving home in that storm. I might have even been injured in an auto accident. The auto certainly would have sustained damage!
