1.30.2011

Well the Lord gave us a beautiful weekend. We had a high of 64 yesterday and 68 today. It felt like Spring instead of Winter. It was delicious.
Yesterday D and I drove over to G'ville and had lunch with BBL and LRL. Then we all walked a part of the Swamp Rabbit trail. It felt like half the county was out there with us. Everyone was enjoying the outdoors. Lots of bicycles. D and I want to take ours at some point and ride the trail. It was so nice to be out there as a family. After we took BBL and LRL back home we just weren't ready to be inside so we walked the lake loop at Furman.
Today after church we decided to go walking again. We ended up at Heritage Park, our usual go-to place. We did the walk-circuit twice and then a new stretch of trail twice.
Even with all that walking, I am behind on my totals for the week. I'll have to up the walks if I'm to make my annual goal!

8.11.10

I've really been enjoying my evening walks with D. I'm beginning to learn my way around our little city! It's been so hot lately we haven't been going out until 8PM. I'm looking forward to the cooler temperatures of Fall. Most of our walks are between 2.5 - 3 miles and we try not to do the same route on consecutive days. The other night we learned that it's less than a 3mi walk (round trip) to the grocery store, so we walked there and bought salad dressing. That made me feel very healthy. D mapped out a 4 miler and we are scheduled to try it out on Friday or Saturday - can't wait!

8.2.2010

D and I have resumed taking our walks together through the neighborhood. I missed them so much while he was gone. Yesterday it was very nice outside so we decided to do a longer route. We started out on our usual path but then took the way the horse-drawn carriages do at Christmas-time. From our house and back again it's only 2.7 miles.

On the way back we noticed some friends from FBC eating at the diner so we popped in to say hello and bought some drinks. It felt like a very small-town thing to do. I hope the temperatures stay moderate so that we can do it again today!
